Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its usages in our daily life

First, let me define Artificial Intelligence. Artificial intelligence or AI is a branch of computer science that brings together numerous disciplines, with the intention of creating smart machines or devices and systems capable of performing complex or difficult tasks that often require human intelligence. AI is capable of doing tasks equals or exceeds the capabilities of humans.

In our daily life without knowing these, we are using a lot of things. When we are using Google or some other search engine searching something, artificial intelligence will take you to that point which one you are searching. For example, you want to buy a cloth, most of us definitely use the google search engine to search for some online shop. You are getting a lot of results, from that you can choose the best one. This is happening due to the AI. They are taking us to that way. Online search and recommendation are just one of the many applications of AI in our daily lives that we take for granted. 

Can you imagine a day without mobile phones? Does sound to be a challenge, right? A lot of applications on our mobiles have become an integral part of our daily lives. Many of these applications are based on AI.

The applications on your smartphones like social media apps, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest, all these applications to a large extent, is working by AI. AI almost controls the feeds, comment, likes that you see while browsing through these platforms and the notifications that you receive also.

Music and Video Streaming has also had a good role in AI. The technology's ability to learn from the listening habits of millions of users across millions of songs has made the software key for nearly every music and video streaming service today.

A smart home is another concept very popular now a day. Alexa, Siri, Google Home etc, come on top of the mind when one talks of using AI in developing smart homes. These are not only a voice assistant but it controls almost everything in our home from switch on switch off the light and even you can change the colour of the light. Switch on/off the TV, AC, and Heater etc. etc. More and more is in an experimental state and will introduce soon.

Smart input is another achievement. While you are typing, it is predicting the word, phrases according to your daily usage of the text.  This is beyond the predictive test used in your earlier mobile phones. The smartphone is almost running with this Artificial intelligence.

Banks use AI in many areas, including detection of any fraudulent activity, scrutinizing the investment trends of customers, provision of customer services, etc. Have you ever received a notification from a bank when you do a transaction from a new device? This is a case of AI being used for the detection of any potential fraud. Bank want to make sure that you are safe.

While signing in google mail account sometimes it’s asking to verify that you are doing this. This is also part of AI.

AI is helping us to become safer and productive to live a better life. We should say thanks to this achievement instead of considering it as a competition. Everything has it's own good and bad. In this article, I did discuss very few AI. In the long run, AI replaces human intelligence.
