What is the difference between stress and depression?

Both stress and depression are two very prevalent psychological conditions of a human being. Stress is short term and depression is a long-term psychological conditions condition. Both are very serious things in life.

Stress is the reaction when someone feels that they are under too much emotional or mental pressure and that they can no longer manage. Everyone comes across such a condition in your life. Maybe in the family relationship, or in the office or in the school, college, etc. A high level of continuous stress leads to big issues. While stress can generally have negative effects on your physical and mental health.

Depression is a mood disorder. That is a state of unhappiness; it can last for weeks, months, or even years. Depression has to treat clinically otherwise, it may be dangerous.

How to manage stress and depression?

  • You have to sleep enough
  • Always eat a healthy diet
  • Do regular exercise
  • Take some break go for vacations or regular breaks from work
  • Do your hobby such as gardening, painting, cooking, etc
  • Reduce the consumption of caffeine or alcohol
  • Do some breathing exercises
  • Share your responsibilities or tasks with others
  • Surround with supportive and positive friends and family members
  • Do some yoga or meditation. 
In addition, no matter what you choose you have to talk with a counselor, therapist, or other mental health professional to reduce high-level stress.

Stress affects everyone from time to time and not all stress is harmful. However, high levels of stress over time can negatively affect your mental and physical health and may be a risk factor for depression. Reduce stress and keep away from depression.
